The small Gripple will accept wire thicknesses of between 3.25mm - 4.20mm. It's designed to allow the wire to follow through in one direction but bite shut when the wire tries to go in the other direction, therefore constantly keeping the wire taught. This is a fencing must have both professional contractors and keen DIY-ers.
They are easy to fit if you have the Gripple application tool. These aren't needed in every application of fencing or landscaping but are a fantastic solution to keep the wire tight and be able to reapply tension on wire that has become slack.
Other applications for the Gripple are keeping plant or vegetable wire tight, they are often used in marquees and temporary structures to keep the wire tight that holds down sheets or tarpaulins as well.
